What does the Tattersall’s George Adams Foundation support?

Organisations that have the required Deductible Gift Recipient and Income Exempt Charity status that operate in the category areas of wellness, culture and community with a particular focus on those less fortunate and the needy.

What is the maximum donation amount?

As a guide, donations up to $50,000 will be considered and by exception, the Foundation may consider larger amounts.

How do l apply to the Foundation?

The Foundation accepts written applications. There is no formal application form, however we recommend that applications be no more than 2 to 3 pages and detail the organisation and the particular project for which funding is sought. Supporting documentation such as an annual report or other relevant printed/public documents and relevant ATO endorsement as deductible gift recipient and income tax exempt status should be included with the application.

When do you distribute the funding to successful applicants?

Applications to the Foundation are accepted at any time however there are two “rounds” per year where the closing dates determine in which round the application will be assessed and funding, if any, provided. The two rounds are generally held in September and March of each financial year with notification given at the end of November and May respectively.

How will I know if I’ve been successful?

Initially, you will be contacted by telephone, followed by a formal letter from the Foundation.

How do l apply for DGR and Income Tax Exempt status?

Contact the Australian Taxation Office.

Can l reapply for the same grant?

If a previous application has been unsuccessful, you may re-apply at any time however it is recommended that you wait for a period of approximately 12 months. If a previous application has been successful, you may reapply for a similar grant after a three-year period.
